Birch Pits are new to the Cleverley Fisheries portfolio and I have very high expectations for this new venue. There are two gravel pits of 14 and 9 acres situated in Birch near Colchester.

Original fish of 24lbs and 33lbs were caught last year and we are hopeful that there will be a few more surprises to be had.

Regardless of current stock levels, Cleverley Fisheries has started an extensive stocking programme which will continue until the lakes open. Fish have been stocked up to 28lbs from our stock lakes and we have also had some fish stocked by Handy Carp and Southern Fisheries up to 33lbs 14oz.

There has also been lots of work put into the bankside with well over three hundred trees planted and comfortable swims being built.

Both lakes now hold fish well over 30lbs and we will continue to add to the stock until 1st September 2009 when the lakes are due to open.
