With The View host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on maternity leave, Kate Gosselin is among many guest hosts filling in. Fans and viewers of the Gosselin's reality show have been waiting
for this appearance, hoping Kate will get real and leave her overly-produced and action-packed "Newly-Single-Mom-Against-The-World" reality persona behind.
Barbara Walters asked Kate Gosselin if she could be compared with the Octomom, Nadya Sulemon, and Kate gave a concise, well-rehearsed answer, stating it's a completely different situation. Indeed, Kate Gosselin's children all came at the help of a Doctor's hand (and syringe, I'm assuming), like Nadya; here, the similarities end. For one thing, when Jon and Kate set out to try again, they only had a set of twins on their plate.
Though several embryos were implanted in both Kate Gosselin and Nadya Suleman's respective uteri for their last pregnancies, Nadya already had six children she was raising by herself. The thought that one person can effectively and safely raise fourteen children on their own is, pardon the pun, inconceivable for most. But Nadya has displayed less-than-logical thoughts, words and behaviors many times over, and will likely continue to stun us in the future.
Jon and Kate Gosselin, however, were simply a couple with infertility problems looking to expand a loving family. And, so, they did. But the events of the years following the birth of Jon and Kate's sextuplets, who the entire country has come to know and love, seem to have broken down that love. Jon and Kate express constantly the love they have for their kids, but there is none lost between the former husband and wife reality stars.
Kate opened up further during a guest segment with Dr. Phil of talk-show circuit fame about Phil and his wife Robin's support throughout the situation. Barbara read a statement from Jon on the issue, which basically stated Jon didn't want to go on the Dr. Phil show, that it would be "wierd", and said the involvement of the Dr. Phil show "wasn't helping". Dr Phil wouldn't comment on the situation.
