PostSubject: Old mill and meadows:lee valley parks.   Old mill and meadows:lee valley parks. I_icon_minitimeThu Jul 30, 2009 2:36 pm

This fishery is based around the site of the old Broxbourne Mill. It includes a section of the Old River Lee upstream of the Mill wheel, the River Lea Navigation cut off, a small weir pool and the famous Conkers stretch of the Navigation to Nazeing New Road.
Permit Day
Price (£) Adult 3.40 (1 Rod)
5.60 (2 Rods)
Price (£) Concessions 2.40 (1 Rod)
3.50 (2 Rods)
Max No. Rods 2
*Traditional Close Season Yes
*Traditional Close Season is March 15th to June 15th

Species
Good for near-record specimen Chub, Roach, Perch, and Pike with the odd decent Carp present.

Hotspots
The Mill pool is very good in the winter for good-sized Roach and the main river is again producing numbers of specimen Chub. During the summer, Carp have been known to move into the Mill pool. Try floating crust or chum mixer to tempt these fish.

TIPS
Bags of Roach and Chub can be taken using waggler tactics with bronze maggots. The Mill pool itself is a particularly good winter fishery. Roach shoal tightly at the tail of the pool and large pleasure catches can be taken, with a number of 2 lbs fish being recorded. Raw steak, mince meat and Halibut pellet work well for the bigger Chub and hemp, tares and bread punch work well for Roach.

Restrictions
Night fishing is not permitted. There is a limit of two rods per angler.

Tickets
Day Tickets are only available from the Lee Valley Park Fishery Bailiff on the bank side.
