Lake John Fishery comprises two coarse fishing lakes, both are well stocked with fish including carp, roach, bream, perch, rudd, chubblets and gudgeon.

Top Lake [42 pegs] - holds common carp and mirror carp [to 30lb], tench [to over 8lb], bream [to 8lb], golden tench [to over 6lb], perch [to nearly 4lb], roach and crucians [to over 2lb] and rudd [to 1lb 8oz]. Try legering hair-rigged 14mm pellets or floating crust /dog biscuits for carp. Standard feeder tactics work well for bream and tench using pellets, meat or corn as hookbait. For mixed catches, waggler fish soft pellets over loose feed. Best pegs are left and right bank opposite the island.

Bottom Lake [24 pegs] - carp [to 13lb], bream and tench [to 2lb], perch [to 1lb 8oz], roach and rudd [to 1lb], chub and crucians. Try float fished soft pellet, corn or meat over pellet feed.

All nets must be dipped in the trays before fishing. One rod only on the bottom lake, two rods maximum on the top lake.

Carp fishing rules - no night fishing, no boilies, bolt rigs, barbed hooks, nuts, paste, fixed method feeders or bait boats. Un-hooking mats must be used at all times.
Match fishing rules - No blood worm or joker, no pellet except in open matches, no balling of ground bait, no fixed feeders or method feeder and no barbed hooks.
