Chelmsford Angling Association now have the fishing rights along with the M.A.S for the entire length of the canal from the Gas Works at Browns Wharf Chelmsford, to the Heybridge Basin.
The club has partnered up with the Maldon Angling Society to obtain the lease for this prolific stretch of water. Day tickets will be available from selected tackle shops, also from bailiffs on easy accessible sections only.
Please observe notice boards erected along the canal as certain banks will remain out of bounds, or private.

Other sections are available. At Little Waltham there is some fine Chub and roach fishing with the occasional Carp and Trout. Ulting Church , for most species including good Tench and Perch. Hoe Mill Back stream, which is more of a roving water for Chub and silver fish. The over bank (opposite side to tow path) at Barnes Mill for good all round fishing, though can be a problem with weed in the summer.
