The North Met is a mature gravel pit of 58 acres divided into two. The main lake is approximately 45 acres with the 'North' section being around 13 acres. Both the main lake and the 'North' are a maze of gravel bars, islands, points and bays, hence location is the key to catching. Once located the fish are not always difficult to catch.

Species
The North Met is primarily a Big Carp fishery containing excellent specimen Carp also Bream,Tench, Pike and large Eels present. The fishery produces several well known Carp in excess 40lbs.

Hotspots
For the Carp, find features such as bars, plateaus, holes in weed beds and gullies. The 'North' section is very under-fished and could be worth persevering with.

Tips
For the Carp, any of the well known, good quality fishmeal boilies work well when fished over pellet. In the warmer months the shallow areas are worth locating as the fish tend to be found there in numbers. Beds of pellet and hempseed attract Carp, Tench and Bream. Be mobile and prepared for long walks laden with tackle to fish certain swims.

Restrictions
There is a limit of three rods per angler. The 'Out of Bounds' areas are not to be fished.

Permits
There are two types of Season Permit available for the North Met; a Day/Night and a Day Only Season Permit. For season permit availability see the News page on this site.
