The Lavers consists of two waters, Greens Farm and Wynters Pool, which are fished by the 32 man syndicate. The lakes are situated near Ongar, Essex not far from junction 7 on the M11. The water at Greens Farm which is approaching 5 acres is the serious carp venue. It had been used as a farm reservoir since it was dug in 1990 through to 2006 when it was no longer required for irrigation and was opened as a fishery the following year. It's taken two years but the lake is now full and reached the overflow and the venue is looking a lot nicer for it. The lake was a bit barren when it was first opened but there is an ongoing planting program of reeds, willows and hedgerows that are beginning to take hold.

Although the venue has plenty of carp stocked Lavers main lake can be quite tricky at times. It can get weedy and a lot of the carp get pre-occupied on the natural. Some of the carp stocked have yet to grace the bank although there's others that make a regular appearance. The Lavers is a friendly syndicate with good anglers who are up for the challenge. The rewards are there in the shape of some stunning carp that are getting bigger every season. As we approach the end of what is only the second season on the venue "The Lavers" is well on its way in establishing itself as a top water.

The other water on the Lavers ticket is Wynters Pool. This former reservoir of 2 acres is stocked with plenty of carp of all sizes up to around 20lb and is good runs water. There are some nice scaley originals present that were stocked as fingerlings when the lake was dug in the late eighties. Also there’s a small number of huge rudd that shoal and feed with the carp.

From the start of the new 2009 season on Wynters Pool members will be able to take their children with them to have a fish (maximum of 4 rods out between member and kids, child must be 16 or under).

There are also a small number of Wynters Pool only tickets available.
